Position Overview

Osner’s FC is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Athletic Trainer to provide professional care for our soccer players during weekend games. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of players. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and safety of our athletes, supporting peak performance, and minimizing the risk of injuries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Game-Day Coverage: Provide on-site medical coverage for weekend games, including pre-game preparation, in-game support, and post-game care.
  • Injury Prevention: Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including warm-ups, stretches, and conditioning exercises.
  • Injury Assessment and Treatment: Evaluate and treat injuries that occur during games, including taping, bracing, and first aid.
  • Rehabilitation Programs: Design and supervise rehabilitation programs for injured athletes, ensuring a safe and efficient return to play.
  • Communication: Collaborate with coaches, players, and parents (if applicable) to communicate injury status, recovery plans, and medical updates.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress for all players.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including emergency action plans and concussion protocols.

Requirements

  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New York.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with athletes, preferably in soccer or team sports.
  • Strong understanding of injury prevention techniques and rehabilitation practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends and adjust to the team’s schedule as needed.

Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in sports medicine, particularly with soccer teams, is highly desirable.

Hourly Wage

  • Entry-Level: $25–$30/hour (0–2 years of experience).
  • Mid-Level: $30–$40/hour (2–5 years of experience).
  • Experienced Professionals: $40–$50/hour (5+ years of experience or specialized expertise).

Compensation will depend on experience, certifications, and the scope of responsibilities.
