Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and dynamic Social Media Specialist to join our team part time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our social media strategy to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and generate leads. This role requires a keen understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics, coupled with strong communication skills and a passion for storytelling.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Create and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging, high-quality content for various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, etc.).
  • Community Management: Interact with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster an engaged online community.
  • Campaign Management:  Plan and manage paid and organic campaigns to achieve KPIs such as reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media performance using analytics tools, prepare detailed reports, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, design, and content teams to ensure brand consistency and the alignment of messaging.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, incorporating them into strategies.
  • Crisis Management: Address negative feedback or issues on social platforms with professionalism and sensitivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social).
  • Strong understanding of social media metrics and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to design eye-catching posts (experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
  • Knowledge of SEO and social media marketing best practices.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with video editing tools and trends is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Credentials

  • Certifications in social media marketing, such as Hootsuite, or Google Digital Marketing, are highly desirable.
  • A portfolio showcasing past social media campaigns or content is preferred.

Hourly Wage

  • Entry-Level: $18–$23/hour (0–4 years of experience)
  • Mid-Level: $24–$35/hour (5–8 years of experience)
